An eating GIRAFFE, its head deep in the branches. A fat crow, MANNY, squats on its horns.

GIRAFFE

(a beat)
Naw, not that one either. He don’t

EXT. ZOO — SMALL WOODED CLEARING — CONTINUOUS

A skinny crow, LOU, scrutinizes the row. The specks have changed to plain pieces of popcorn. A RHINOCEROS BEETLE sits across.

LOU
Naw. These ain’t it, these ain’t it.
What else ya got? What ya got in

EXT. ZOO — SMALL WOODED CLEARING — CONTINUOUS

A speckled piece of popcorn has been added to the row.

LOU
Well. Huh. So’s ya do, so’s ya do…
Suppose we toss in a truffle, calls

Got a bag?

EXT. ZOO — SAVANNA TREETOPS — CONTINUOUS

GIRAFFE

MANNY

Manny takes to the air, disappearing off-screen. The giraffe doesn’t even seem to notice.

Lou struggles to close a Ziploc stuffed with the multicolored popcorn. An unopened stick of gum now replaces it.

LOU
(haltingly)
Naw. Keep it. Low sugar these days.
Plus, give him gum, he just chokes.
Thinks it’s the dyes.

EXT. ZOO — SAVANNA TREETOPS — CONTINUOUS

Manny’s perched in the branches of a nearby tree, something bright and a plastic bag stuck to it gumming up his mouth.

MANNY
(through gum and bag)
Mmm. Smell o’ dat! ‘Adn’t ‘ad
Juicy Fruit since da t’irties! Tell ya…

EXT. ZOO — SMALL WOODED CLEARING — CONTINUOUS
